Frozen on Rangely Lake

Oil on stretched canvas, 11"x14".
It was really cold this day but trudging in my snowshoes on the snow covered Rangely Lake last winter kept me toasty...for a while. This spot is where snowmobiles enter and exit the lake, so the air was alive with buzzing snowmobiles and the snow crisscrossed with tracks. I was struck with this scene because it seemed like summer was frozen in the cold but winter had melted to life.
